oh they do for sure! Believe me, i understand where all the wants come from.
As badass as that looks, I could NEVER do that to my trailer. Living in NH, if I put rims with low profile tires on my trailer, the rims would be junk in a month! Stupid winter ruining our roads....can't pimp out my trailer.......grumble mumble....
I like them, to each his own though.
Love that boat/trailer Cat..DAMMMMITT MAN
Im actually having the exact same problem. At the begining of this blog, a guy gave the correct sizes of the lug pattern and width. He said he went with 8" wide wheels and he wishes that he would have went with 7" because they stick out too far. I called every wheel shop in town yesterday. I couldnt find anything over 17" with a zero offset. The ones i did find, they were 9 and 10 inches wide. Im just wondering if there are certian brands of wheels that carry the wheels i might be looking for.
Im doing 17's this time around. I bent a rim with 18's. Im doing polish with a black center.

Now those I like, not to figure out the bolt pattern, etc.But DAM 5 of those would not be cheap.

Did you bend the rig because it was an 18"? I talked to my guy yesterday, he basically told me we would have to use spacers because of the offset. Is that pretty normal?
I might be wrong on what I'm about to say, but once your trailer is built you're pretty much stuck with the same size wheels. I was lucky enough to contact my trailer manufacturer when the trailer was being built and let them know I wanted to add 18" wheels. The trailer manufacturer had to modify the trailer to fit 18" wheels.
Below is one of the actual emails the trailer manufacturer sent me. I realize this was for a Bullet boat and every boat is different.
"We can offer a number of 18Â wheels and tires but IÂm not certain how easily those can be adapted to a Bullet trailer. The Bullet models sit low on the trailer between the fenders. IÂm not sure that we can keep the boat at the same height relative to the frame and still have room for the wider fenders and keep the max width of the trailer at 102Â or less. IÂll look into this today."
After doing a lot of research on this whole topic, I think im starting to figure out the wheels situation. 621Skeeter, I hope this helps you out.
I sent this forum's link to my tire/ wheel guy. All of this time i have been searching for 17"+ wheels that have the correct lug and offset pattern. Fact of the matter is... there is very few wheels out there. Wheel companies just dont make 20" wheels for boat trailers. You are partly correct when you said that your basically stuck with the specifications that your trailer is manufactured with.
After showing this link to my wheel guy, he basically told me that all of these guys with the nice rims on their boat trailer have adapters. (what i like to call spacers) they basically look like large washers that slide on to your hub. they have holes in them for the lug bolts. You have to get these because trailer wheels are built to hold wheels that have a zero offset. Most car wheels are made with a high offset like 40. You put the spacers in to allow the 40 offset fit the hub correctly.
So as long as you have the correct size, which on mine happens to be 5 x 4.5 (114.3) you then can worry about the diameter of the wheel and the offset.
Now the width of the wheel is a different story. A guy posted a while back saying his 8" wide wheels stuck out a little more than he would like, i would definately lean towards the 7.5" wide wheels. There are actually a ton of them out there. A website that i have been looking at lately has been wheelpro.com. May wanna check that out.
From what ive been told, i really think you can have the wheels you want it just takes the modification of the spacers.
Hope this helps a little

thanks man!
Stratos looks great! I almost got the same wheels, when they ordered them they could only get three by the time I needed them. I got different ones but those were #1 on my short list. Looks awsome!![]()
Yes, that Stratos looks amazing....love those wheels on trucks AND now boats!! LoL![]()

I think those low profile tires look retarded. But that's just my opinion - a straight white dude.![]()
And the ride of the truck / trailer HAS to be horrible - no sidewall to absorb any of the bumps.
