Do you think Lowrance ever read about any of these threads about their props ? I bet they would sell more trolling motors with a durable prop and not having their customers using a competitor's modified prop !

I’ve used my boat 4 times this year (sad I know), and it’s probably less than 10 trips total on my new ghost prop. I took my 3 yo son on the boat for the first time Saturday. No wind or nothing, just drifted into the shallows while we reeled in his first fish ever, after all the excitement I hit the pedal and nothing. Look down the prop is spilt in half sitting on the bottom of the lake. That was the end of his first fishing trip. Came here to see if there was a better option but i guess not.

The ghost prop looks like the same prop as my xi5 came with…it was small and week,I modified a (milled down)mk33 years ago but had a vibration at higher speeds, currently using a kipawa 3 blade and it runs very smooth.

Guess I’m the only one that hasn’t managed to break one and I’ve hit stumps and rocks, guess mine was special.

I have only chipped the very tips of mine when hitting a hard rock bottom with the prop spinning.

which Kipawa prop? The motorguide? I assume it’s as easy as to modify the roll pin?

I have yet to break one myself, hit stumps and rocks alot, they do get beat up more than my MK props ever did. I just file down those spots, I do have a new spare ready to go.

Have owned a 2 ghosts in the last 4 years.

Sorry if you misunderstood,I’m using kipawa for motorguide on my xi5, I’d guess a call to the kipawa folks would tell you if it fit the ghost.

They do, was just on the Kipawa prop website, I have a 80lb Fortrex that comes with a MKP # 33 prop and their Kipawa version (# 80/01, comes with a pin, washer and lock nut) fits my Fortrex and the Ghost. Its even cheaper than the Minn Kota # 33 prop, only $37.00 on their website.

Sorry I read it wrong, the Kipawa # 80/01 prop will fit a Fortrex and a Force, but this prop could be modified to fit a Ghost.
