With a Hemi and all-wheel I bet that thing launches like a rocket!
1993 F-150 Flarside with 195,555 miles on the 302w in pushing it.
Burning the candle at both ends.
Man those are some good looking trucks. The only thing that would make them a better truck is if they had that little red light on the back that was hooked up to the Stayncharge All Charge system that should be in the boat. Just my thought
A big ole truck! Ford F-350 4dr. Crewcab Superduty 7.3 turbo diesel. This thing is longer than my Triton TR-20 "on the trailer". Actually my boat looks dwarfed by the size of my truck. Decent mileage, LOADS of power, rides like a Cadillace and most people get the hell out of my way when I come up behind them in the passing lane.
Here's my tow vehicle - 1979 Dodge Magnum with built 360ci 4bbl. 15mpg towing a Nitro 640LX / 75 Optimax (about 2100lbs) and it climbs up any hill at 70+.

2002 F250.
It don't know a boat is back there.
I tow with a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab Diesel which get the job done in style with little effort.
2003 GMC Yukon Great turning radius at the ramp, plenty of horsepower, comfortable to drive and lots of dry room for all your stuff.

Your in luck! I just bought a Ranger 520 with a 225 on it. I had to drive 10 hours one way to get it. I went to pick the boat up in a 2004 Z71. When I got home I use my truck which is a 1999 F150 with the 4.6L V8. I have the small V8 in my truck and I think out performed the Z71 hands down. The ride was much better.
I tow to Kerr and Gaston regularly and also up to the Potomac from Colonial heights I have a Z71 extended cab(2005) and tow a Triton TR 186 and have no trouble at all.Had a Hydra sport 18 footer and towed with a 2000 Z71 and no problems. Both trailers had brakes ...to me this is the big issue you can tow with almost any vehicle but when you stop you need to be able to stop quickly without pushing the tow vehicle too much.
For dependability I might would go with a diesel ..I don't like them for the noise or I would have one myself.
Bottom line is being able to stop your boat safely !!!!
I get about 15 mpg towing my boat with my truck
Try Haley ford they have good service if you want a ford my wife has an escape from there and has had a lot of problems with it and they have bent over backwards to help us.

I'm sur you have made a decision by now but just wanted to mention what I did. For the past several years I've towed my rigs with Tahoes and my last was a 2003
Z71 Suburban (a dream vehicle). Recently, I sold the Sub and got a 2006 Toyota
Tacoma V6 4WD 4 DR Pickup. My rig is a 3800 lb total weight and it tows it well. I generally drag mine over some very hilly roads and there is no problem. The best part is the mileage I get not towing as well as towing. Good lucik with whatever you get or have already plunged for. Most are good nowadays.

2003 Chevy Suburban LT w/ autoride.
8.1 Ltr 4x4.
Pulls the 2000 21 SS Stratos Extreme with no problem.
Once I learn how to post pic I will.
I put stripes on it to match the design on the boat.

Grant, without any flaps do you have any fiberglass left on the boat? Nice looking Chevy otherwise.
Haha, well my current boat is just an aluminum jon boat. But previously my dad and I shared a '97 Nitro. I towed it 1-2 times during the week to local lakes after class, and about 100-ish miles on weekends out to our place on Lake Fork. Never noticed any chips or marks in the gelcoat due to rocks or other road debris.

I see. I towed mine to Missouri to drop it off a couple weeks ago and my Towtector was completely full of frozen gravel and sand from the roads being worked (snowed 2 days earlier). I'd hate to have seen how much of a sandblasting my boat would have taken. I have flaps, but after seeing all the crap I throw on the buddies boat - I bought the Towtector for long trips. It looks a little dorky, but it does a great job.
