I went to look at the 2015 Ranger RT178 and RT188 . I saw 2 things that are different. Tool holder at the trolling motor pedal and they painted the whole side of the boat. No more part paint and part medal. Everything else looks the same. They did tell me if i wanted a 36 volt trolling motor they could do it. They would put the extra battery in the storage compartment behind passenger set. Ranger would have to wire it at factory. If you have ever been to Venice Louisiana to bass fish you would know why i would want a 36 volt system. I really liked the lay out of the boat but like most other people i wish you could store rods on the port side compartment. Thanks to all of you that answered the ???s i had and may have so more. Oh by the way the camo boats looked nice also just no carpet.

    take care, Brent

Picked this up in April 2014 after being a land lubber for the past 8yrs. It's good to be back on the water.

I'm thinking about, looking into and seeking any information/advice about possibly putting a jack plate on for river fishing. I don't do it now because I'm too scared, but I know that the river is where it's at. I'm no pro, or even a wannabe, I just want to maximize my limited time on the water so that I can have the maximum amount of fun. Wish I could find a bass club of like minded individuals to have fun and learn with but it's not looking too promising.

Boat looks like its in great shape. Post a thread on the jp on the main forum and you will get some good input on the jack plate. Alot of us with hydro and manual jp that could help out.

The boat was in amazingly great shape. That's why I told the wife that it was a steal and that I had to have it. I simply replaced the trolling motor and added a Minn Kota 3 bank battery charger.

Thank you, I will add a post about the jack plate.

I use a Swivl-Eze Lock 'N Stow. The dealer service manager recommended it and I love it. Way faster/easier than conventional. It's about reducing stress on hydraulics, not supporting motor to trailer. Lots of debate on this subject i have found.

On the A Bimini Top there is a screw that it is really easy to remove on that hinge or tipping point.

is not gray is not blue, is not black... is GRAPHITE(but it looks kind of grayist black)

Thanks for the comments... going tomorroy to the lake to fish a little bit, have lunch with the family and learn the fancy graphs...
