    Eddie is on the mt Rushmore of rock guitarists. A pioneer. Ace freely is not in the top 100 all time in my opinion.

    As a guitarist, Eddie stands head and shoulders above Ace. A better argument for Ace, might be who was the better showman.

    Eddie Van Halen was one of the best.

    Terry Kath, original Chicago Guitarist and lead singer was really underrated, watch his solo from 1970 on 25 or 6 to 4, starting at around the 25:30 mark.

    Eddie. No contest. I know Eruption is essentially his trademark solo, but if you get into his later tunes, check out Respect the Wind. Now that is an EVH solo. The dives and swells in that piece are amazing.
