I have 5 Stradics.... But recently someone suggested kastking Valiant eagle.... the reel is only $60. I figured i would give it a try.... it is now my favorite spinning reel... tons of reviews and clips on YouTube. I will by more.

I have three Shimano Stradic CI4’s and all have been good reels.
I bought a NASCI by Shimano and it is really good for a $100 reel.
I gave up on Shimano spinners when they did away with the anti-reverse switch and all my Symetres started sticking. To me Pfluegers feel heaky and clunky (I have 4 of them). My best bang for the buck have been the Daiwas (not that old fashioned SS one though). I really like the Daiwa Fuegos but if I could afford the Daiwa Ballistic I'd get that.

I’ve used daiwa for years, zero complaints. That ss1300 posted is a great reel, but never had a bad daiwa spinning reel.

Have been using the 3000 Stradic Ci4 for several years. Recently bought a Stradic Ci4 in the 1000 series.
I’m pretty tough on my tackle and fish brackish water over 75 % of the time. The Stradics are GREAT. They hold up well on snook, reds, small tarpon, and sea trout as well as bass. Light, extremely smooth drags, and durable.
No knock on any of the other brands but I’m happy with these.
This is an outstanding reel, built like a tank. It has a fail proof drag. I can sell well used ones at fishing flea markets for $50 up. I have some really sweet Chinese spinning reels with 13 ball bearings that are like silk, but I know the 1300 will be going long after they are in the trash.
The Japan run was a very short run from way back in the early 90's or so. Other than that they were and still are made in Thailand. There's always been a debate as to whether the Japan ones were superior, some considered them inferior which is almost unheard of in regards to Japanese tackle. Either way, occasionally the Japan ones pop up on ebay and usually go quickly. Apparently the Thai ones aint too shabby either ... 35+ years is a long time.
