dude its unreal all the b.s. speeds these guys are putting up on here100mph 87,even the high 70's is unbelieveable. low 70's maybe... i bet when these guys catch a 3 pounder to them its a 7 pounder. ive owned a 201 pro stratos with every toy option on it with a worked 200 and with no gas left and a strong breeze at my back the boat hit 70.2 on gps. so wake up boys and post true speeds cuz you making you selves look ridiculous.. NB BASSER sounds more like it... (honest)

Drag your junk up here and run it. My chit is real.

    21XDC (Mike Lohn) drove it
colreb2000 (Nate Martin), jclark408 (Jeremy Taylor) and I watched and took video. Approx 500 ABA anglers in the TX meeting watched, including Blue Steel (Mike Allen).

But this post is about an entirely different boat, one similar to the boat hydro tec has run to 96 mph. There are some faster than 70.2, even into the wind and loaded to fish.

    Re: (craigs06)

I have a 2009 294XL Evo with a 200 HO Etec. The gas mileage is better than a 285XL with a 150! It is great on oil as well. It is a fast boat but it does chine walk and you will have to be able to correct for chine walk to get it up to the high 70s. The actia gauges are THE BOMB! There is a lcd display that you can step through all of the different gauges and sensors on the engine. GPS MPH, Time, altitude, MPH, GPH, trip meter, water temp, water pressure, ect.

The two major screw ups on this boat are that the port rod locker door colides with the trolling motor head when the trolling motor is stowed (Minnkota). The second major screw up is the plug is very difficult to touch let alone screw in.

Unless you have a good boat dealer you are going to probably have to address trailer issues immediately. You will have to remove the back two tail lights, cut away the armor coating and reinstall the housings. This will ensure that they connect to ground. You may have to work on the connectors as well if they don't match. The other thing that you will probably have to do is add a ground wire from the swing away tongue to the trailer. The armor coating and rust usually ensure that the tongue isn't grounded. The safety changes will provide the ground until you get this addressed. Do a search on my name and you will see the thread on all of the quality issues with my trailer. Now that I have addressed them it is a great trailer.

    I hope this helps.

Dude I can run 73-74 with a heavy fishin load. No bs these 294's will run no less than 75 and some of us high 70's Granted it takes the right set up and the right conditions to reach the high 70's but a number of us have done it on a regular basis.
Your 201 with 200 you had is a different animal than the 294's.

I agree 100% with what you are saying ...........however, Craigs06 never told you what that "Japenese junk" is on the back of his rig...........it's real.........his is very unique and I couldnt agree more that some speeds folks list are hideous, although his are NOT.......I got a 250 on a 1280lb. hull that can't run the speeds others claim with the same motor on a 1900lb. hull

I've ran Craig's boat too. And want to run it again now that he has some more props. The boat had a lot left when I ran it up in the 80's.
