Exactly.![]()
I'm not really greedy. But, mine isn't the one that is running 79.7. So, I guess I want to go 79.8. I really need to get a 28 TXP to try. I think that will do it.![]()

You'll about let your jaw hit the floor if you hit 79.9 huh!![]()
Jason Phillips
Dammit, I'm close...got her to 79.9. I know it isn't 80, but that was a box stock prop too. If I'd get off my lazy butt and get my Raker worked it will do it.![]()
There are several 200 PXL's running in the circuit I fish and none I have seen are much above 75. Good running boats.
Gary
sorry, meant 75 not 70 before edit![]()

Then those guys need to work on set-up... the 200 is a mid-high 70's boat...
I asked the same question a while back.
http://www.bbcboards.net...07874
Im running a 28 raker2 with a 8" hydrolic jack plate on a 225ho. Tournament loaded i will run betwin 78-79mph (my tournament load is light) I bring just what i need. Myself in the boat, no trolling motor, no trolling motor batteries, no front or rear seat and nothing what so ever in the boat 83.4mph.
Myself in the boat with my fishing gear the boat will run 80-81mph any given day
Very strong running boat, I polished my pad last year. Gave me 1mph
Hyperflow, seems you have a strong motor. What is your speed with avg. tourney load and partner w/ half tank of fuel? The 200 PXL's are good running boats
.
Xcess
To be honest i have never had more then 1/4 tank of fuel in the boat, The tournaments i run are on small lakes so no need for the extra fuel in the boat. Im 240lbs and my partner is around 200lbs. In my boat i allow 1 tackle box for each person. So no more then 2 tackle boxes in my boat. In a tournament i have nothing at the bow of the boat expt for fishing rods.
So with both of us, are gear and 1/4 tank of gas i will get 78-79mph. With me and my gf which is 100lbs with just my gear and a 1/4 tank i will bust 80 quite often
You guys are getting some good speeds out of the 200. Mine just will not wake up. I have tried a dump truck load of props and jack plate settings. My top speed is about 76 and that was just with one person. Maybe my etec HO is weak.
Maybe you are right. My 200 will run about 73 something with a tournament load and that is it. I am open to try other things but I think that a 1 mph gain from a different prop is all that is out there for me. My best speeds came from a 26 Raker 2 which I hear is not a good prop whatsoever. I only turn that prop about 5600 or 5700 RPMs so I don't think I can handle the 28 Raker 2. Most guys seem to be running the 28. I have a 27 tempest that I can turn 5700 RPMs and it throws off similar speeds. Mark Croxton is working that prop now to get me a little better lift but I do not anticipate much better top end.
Are you sure you are getting all of the throttle (hot foot setting)?
What are your setup numbers?
Kenneth
Well I think that I am getting all of the throttle of course, I don't know how to really check that.
I have an '06 200 PXL single console with a 225 HO Etec. The boat has an 8" manual jackplate. I have it set at 2.5" below the pad right now. I have been higher but I don't really gain any speed and I seem to loose some bow lift. I have a 26 Raker 2 and a 27 tempest. I have tried a 26 tempest, 27 TXP, 28 TXP, 26 Turbo 4 blade, and 26 trophy. None of the four blades ran well.
The fastest that I have ever seen is 76 and that was basically light with one person. I got 76 with the 26 raker 2. The tempest will give you about 75.5 fairly consistently under the same load. With a tournament load, I am getting low 73's out of either of these props. Guys keep telling me to run the 28's but I just don't see how I am going to be able to turn those props. I only see 5700 RPMs out of my 27 tempest.
