Now this is funny, I brought this subject up several months ago. I wanted to know if and where I could purchase a bug with a merc on the back. I got all kinds of answers from "why would you want one like that", to "Don't expect any extra tournament money, because yamaha owns skeeter".
Course I don't care about all that, I now own a Champion and with the problems they are having now, this could tweek my interest for a bug.

Yamaha makes a good motor but I have found the parts are a lot more expensive than a Mercury.

</TD></TR></TABLE>There was no problem with the warranty on mine. It came rigged from the factory with Merc controls. I had to tell the dealer it could be done.
interesting the power monster corperations have on what we buy! Back when skeeter originated out of tx. i would bet there were more mercs on them than any other moter. NOW YAMAHA owns skeeter so What do you expect!
A mercury just doesnt look or perform right on a Skeeter? Oh now we can get factory rigged skeeters with mercurys on them? What the hell is going on ? Hell must have froze over and the Saints must have won he SuperBowl!!!
Mercury would be my choice on a new bug boat.
