Its like you dropped a rock in a pool in the top left corner and the wave moves diagonally across the screen.

I also get the "rays" occasionally, but mostly only a single one and they are faint and dont last.

The really interesting thing to me is I see both of those things when my trolling motor isnt even on the boat. In fact, Im not sure I ever did see them when running the TM. I never have any interference from my trolling motor though.

This leads me to think something else may be going on - maybe.

Let me ask again - are you guys seeing these things when other boats are around?
My pings are just like that. The trolling motor interference comes and goes but I can live with it. In fact the final install will not be on a trolling motor so that's not an issue. The pings though when the other unit is running is a huge issue since the final install will be next to another transducer.

Which other sonar and transducer is causing the pings? You might want to try changing the frequencies on the other unit to see if that helps. Also play with the Noise Reduction settings on the PS21.

It's an Onix and I've tried every setting I can think of. I'm going to try the shaft mount for the panoptix this weekend if the 100% chance of rain goes away.

I think you're going to have to start all over and establish a baseline. Everything off. Unplug the GT52 from the 93 leaving only the Panoptix. Try in in different locations with different geography; rocky banks, mud banks, flat area,- open water. Gain Auto-Medium. Make screenshots. Now plug in the GT52 and do the very same thing again. Then unplug the GT52 and turn on the Onix. Then add in whatever else you want, trolling motor, big motor. Maybe this would take an hour but should be well worth it.

I agree. That will really help nail down exactly whats causing the issue and, if its also terrain based, what type of bottom. It may just be the Onix though.

There is a chance that some of it is coming from the GT52. Chirp side and down on 455 is actually 425-485. 425 is close enough to 417 make interference. If that turns out to be the problem and he mostly fishes water less than 70-80 ft deep just set it on 800. Right off I don't remember the performance of the GT52 in deep water but I do remember that 800 on the GT50 is far better than 800 on the LSS1 and on 800 is nearly as good as the LSS on 455. I've used the DownVu on 800 effectively in 100 FOW.

No garmin transducer installed (sonar off) but I will try the 800 on the bird as I don't remember trying that. I've tried everything else you mentioned including depth and bottom comp. These boys live and die by the Onix so that's not going anywhere :-)

I'm glad to know what freq. the panoptix runs on. That might help me figure this out. 100% chance of rain this weekend

Here is an example of the feedback I get when I use my trolling motor. I had the sensitivity set between 78 and 81.

Jordan I gave you some suggestions in the other thread, but I'll repeat them here.

Turn off Trails. It will clean up the screen and get rid of the purple. Also try upping the Noise Reduction and see how that does.

In the other thread you said it had been working well then got worse - whats changed? Different wiring, chargers, other sonar, or??
