Thanks TJ, but we are already on that. It will definitely be a weekend NOT TO GO FISHING at Raystown; unless ya want to follow Ike around and see how he does.

If more than half of the boats weigh in a fish, I'll be surprised..............and then I'll go and sign up for Remedial Fishing Class 101!

Yeah Bob, we'll car pool and go to that class together. I'll bet there are a few other guys on here that would car pool with us. Zelmo maybe?

Anybody hear what happened at the tourney??????????? I am dying to know who caught what............or didn't catch what.

Think I'll go up tomorrow, and net all of those half dead Bass floating on the surface. You know..............the ones that got straiffed from all of those props churning up the lake. They will have a few nicks on them, but no sense wasting good meat.

    Re: (This is Double J)

Good guess Double J - I went and watched the weigh in only 8-10 boats of a 34 boat field weighed fish. 5 fish weighing 11lbs took it, lunker for the tourny was 3.77lbs. Not sure what's going on at that lake!!!!!

Thanks for that report jagbass. The results were even worse than I expected.

I had one of my "better" days at Raystown yesterday. I caught an 11" Smallie, an 11" Largemouth, a 10" Largemouth and a whopping 14" Largemouth, and 2 tiny RocKBass.

I hope the PA Fish and Boat Commission took notice of the Tourney Results, because they are doing a one year study of fish caught, (and not caught) by anglers who sent for their log book. I have been keeping one for them all season, and it doesn't look too good.

    Thanks again for the results.

How long does it take you to drive to Raystown? I am in the process of relocating to about an hour to the northeast of where you live.

Hi dartman. Boy............I sure hope somebody cares; especially the Pa Fish and Boat Commission. When we run out of fish, they are out of a job??????

To answer your question tcesni...........it takes me exactly 1 hr. 5 min. to get to the Snyder's Run Launch, which is 52 miles from home, and it takes me 1 hr. 30 min. to get to Tatman Run Launch, which is 72 miles from home. 7 Pts is somewhere in the middle for me.

P.S. I moved to Mifflintown in 74 from Bucks Co.; Ivyland, Doylestown area.

You have a valid point there Dartman; never thought of it that way before.

Of course............if they start spending money on Bass, we will probably be required to purchase a "BASS STAMP", like the trout guys have to do.

    Re: (dartman)

I would really like to see some type of formal report on just what is wrong with the fish population at Raystown. In my opinion from having fished there the last 10-15 years, there is DEFINITELY something wrong and it isn't my fishing ability. It makes me sick because it is where I keep my Allison, I have a camper on a permaent site up there, and I USED to love fishing up there. Fishing on Raystown is not what it once was and now many days, I am challenged to boat a single bass. Hopefully, someone will figure out what is wrong, and address it. Shy Beaver Pro Shop used to sell a lot of bassboats. It's not hard to figure out why they stopped selling them altogether several years ago.

    Re: (dartman)

The fish are there it's just that the baitfish population is so overly abundent that they can feed when they want.. I was up the last two weekends and the coves were covered with schools of baitfish.. You guys need to fish the upper end of the lake more often.. I don't even go below James Creek anymore.. Seems that if i wanna catch fish i concentrate on the Bucket mouths.. Last year fished about 20 times on Raystown and didn't zero once.. Think sometime we should all get together for a mini tourny...

    Re: (jrc27)

I fished Raystown a lot back in the late 70's through the 80's and the last one I caught was using a back jig in a stick-up. I can remember picking up one almost 7# o a #11 Rapala not far from 7 points. I haven't been there for a long time and would like to get up there bform the nuts hit the water. Anyone else planing a trip??

I have a camper on a permanent site up there. My cell # is 717-965-7176. Give me a call. I'm not sure what day I'm going up, probably Tuesday sometime, but I'll be up then for 3-4 days at least.

I look forward to meeting you.

I take it you mean you stay in the southern part of the lake away from the dam?
