H2O makes a good looking one...in shallow or deeper styles and they won't break the bank and they look a lot like the LC pointers.
rogue suspending is a great bait,as is the x-rap #8 and #10,the bomber long a is killer also.i get l.c.'s on e-bay for $8.00 shipped.i throw em yr. round

I use LC pointers, Xraps, Rogues and Bombers. I just started seriously fishing jerkbaits a few years ago. But what I have found just like with jigs, cranks, spinnerbaits, etc. that with different water and weather conditions, different jerkbaits work at different times. (Notice the key word.) You will need different colors, actions, sizes and possibly longer lips for deep divers.
LC's work the most for me, but if you can not build an LC arsenal, then you can get several Xraps, Rogues, Bombers etc that are cheaper. But to do it right, you will need an arsenal. Not just 2 or 3.
I like the Spro McStick, LC Pointers, Rogues... I don't mind spending a little on a jerkbait. They're kinda like topwaters, you don't really lose many of them so they last a while unless you bust em on a rock with a bad cast or something.
If I'm throwing a jerkbait in winter thru early spring, you can bet it will be a LC Staysee 90 (Aurora Black, Ghost Minnow, Chartreuse Shad). With 10# FC line, the bait will dive 8'-10' deep and suspends beautifully. Don't be afraid to wait 10-20 seconds between rips, and DO vary the cadence - rip, pause... rip, rip, pause... rip, pause, rip... etc.![]()

strike king wild shiner pretty solid for 6 bucks
I like the mcsticks and when the money is on the line I drag out my megabass.

I'd like to solve the puzzle
I'm fond of the LC suspending pointer 65 in DD. I'll upsize the front hook.
Vision 110 hands down.
If you havent tried one, you should.
can't believe no one mentioned the old Bagley's Bang-O-Lures?..........I have done very well on those in years past........would use them more, but don't have but a handfull left![]()
that old color Chartreuse Craw was tough to beat in Late March with stained water![]()

If I wasn't so cheap I would use LC, but I always end up throwing an X-Rap in bot 5 an 7 sizes.
In middle TN......Strike King Wild Shiner.....Hands Down!!! If the water is below 55 degrees fish it like a carolina rig, dont rip just drag and let it sit. Count to ten and drag it again, then hang on.
I have caught some nice fish deadsticking husky jerks before. I have never fished a pointer until this year. well i have bought it and havent had a chance to fish it hope it is worth the money.
X-Raps (poor man's Lucky Craft) !!! I have caught many fish on them plus a few nice ones. Rouges are good as well.
I do plan on buying a few Slender Pointers this spring. X-Raps have some amazing action but the LCs have even more!!!
yozuri's have a special place in my heart when lc's aren't the deal that day.
