Can't see myself ever going to Saudi, but Thailand has been high on my list for a long time.

Saudi was pretty amazing when I went. Cities were extremely clean, no trash, no homeless begging for money etc. Every high end car you'd ever dream of seeing was parked on every street or just driving by, it was a car show all day. They've got lots of money to spend and that fact was evident everywhere. Roads were good due to no changing seasons, no speed limits was wild and seeing a 10 year old boy driving through the city was nuts the first time I saw it. The country outside the cities just looked like a beach as far as you could see, no green anywhere. Interesting place overall back then and we felt totally safe. Not sure I'd go back today.

I was there a year in the 1060's. They were a very friendly and happy people. I had a fairly large (500cc) motorcycle and used to drive up-country away from any big cities. A young man's dream. Anything you wanted, if you had the money, they would cooperate.

In Thai culture, politeness and respect are shown through specific body language and actions. The head is considered sacred and should not be touched, while the feet are considered the lowest part of the body and should never be pointed at someone or used to move objects.

Arab culture frowns on showing the soles of your feet as well.
