Slam latch question for 250r owners

Doubt it’s gonna work. The cam latches are offset towards the middle of the door too much. The slam latch has a small latch, kinda like a house door, that has to be pretty close to the inside wall of the box to actually grab. The cam latch has a long arm that twists to reach the slot.

I would like to say it’s easy, but it’s likely anything but…and probably a waste of money to even attempt it.

I looked at a 519 R at the dealership last Saturday and I didn’t see where the holes were in in different place or anything, but you definitely have to drill a bunch of holes to mount the latch part of it. The latch is on at 519R very heavy duty surprisingly so

So there is a catch that comes with the latch? The catch bolts to the inside edge of the box?
My 2022 L has the cam latches on the boxes, but it has a slam latch on the center console. I compared the two and saw where the slam latch on the console would never work on the other boxes. Maybe it’s completely different.

the was a plate with a catch bolted to it for the latch to grab. was HD looking. i asked service guy if they would retrofit and he didn't think so-- i asked my sales guy if he could ask also and will post his answer (if I get one)

"The slam latches will not retro fit to any previous models. The hole is smaller and in a different location according to my contact with the factory. Thanks Mike!"
