I have had experiences with two different VERY high end Lithium's for dual purpose. One I brand I owned, another was an angler that was stranded during a tournament that I tried to help then gave up and gave him a ride in. The problem with lithium for starting is that when the BMS fails you can't jump start them to get back in. Like for example both times I have seen Lithium for starting fail the batteries were in the high 90's percentile for state of charge on the Bluetooth app, but the BMS cut off kicked in so the outboard would not stay running. I had the support line right on the phone for mine and they told me straight up no way around that problem, they would gladly replace the battery under warranty, but I had best look for a tow or swap out with a 12v trolling motor battery. It's a totally different issue than just a dead wet cell or AGM there is plenty of charge the Lithium is not dead, but when that BMS fails it just won't let any current pass thru it. This is exactly how my battery manufacture explained it to me.
