The warn will last the longest and work every time you need it…at a cost. I put a smittybuilt on my last Raptor and it worked well for 10 yrs pulling out other people and tensioning trees to cut. Cosmetically it turned ugly but kept chugging along.

At least a size of the tractor. If my buddie gets his 9570RX stuck, I wouldn't even try without a 60k winch, snatchblocks and a semi. CJ

If you stuck a tractor, don't rely on a straight winch pull alone to get it out. You'll burn up any winch in no time.
You'll need to use several snatch blocks to compound the pulling force. And it will help if you have a high-lift pivot point (to get some vertical lift on the tractor) or you'll just be dragging tons of mud horizontally too.

What size tractor? I had a winch on my 2500 and buried it in the yard and the winch would not pull it out. I had to add 3 come-alongs with it. The winch was a warn M8274 10,000 LB.

It's a little late for this situation, but the one thing that can help you get unstuck when stuck is to stop spinning. Give it up and use assistance like from a winch or another vehicle. I suggest to folks when I go pull em out, don't dig it in down to the axle, makes it so much harder to extract. A tractor with Ag tires will dig down quick.

It's hard to beat a Warn winch. If you can rig a snatch hlock up high on a big tree and pull it out in reverse it will make it a lot easier. Use a tree saver. Use a damper over the cable.

does “MF” stand for Massey Ferguson, or an expletive you called it after it was stuck?

Warn if you want a winch. But, in my experience growing up around tractors it’s quicker and easier just to get another tractor (preferably the same size or bigger) to pull out a buried tractor. I would never expect my truck with a winch to pull out anything more than a small lawn tractor.

I bought a Badlands 12,000 for my car trailer. It works fine but if I used one a bunch I would buy a Warn probably. Not even sure about Warn though as the 2500 on my four wheeler only worked two years. I stuck my tractor so bad that I had to chain the truck to a large tree to get it out. Almost pulling the tree up before it moved. One thing I learned is to be sure and let the motor cool some on a hard pull like that.

I have a Harbor Freight winch, a Smittybuilt, and a Boar brand from Amazon, I have had all of them for 4-5 years at least in all kinds of conditions and have a no problems with any of them. I have one mounted on a cradle that goes in a 2" hitch, I use it on the front of my truck and on my flatbed trailer. If you are going to go that route I highly recommend getting one with a Synthetic rope and at least a 12K rating.

Need some snatch blocks to multiply your pulling power.

Good trenching behind the wheels makes the job much easier.

The warn Evo series winches are great bang for the buck and still come with the warn 10 year warranty. They are over seas made and have better electronics than warn usa much more expensive stuff. check amazon and ebay for prices, I am a dealer and they are often listed at or below my cost on those sites now and then. Get a 12k with synthetic line if your not in mud a ton.

Pickup truck with a winch probably isn’t going to cut it…. Unless you just want a winch for future, save the money and just hire a professional recovery guy..a wrecker guy will plant the feet and pull it out… hydraulic winch is far stronger than any electric winch..

Father in law got his RV stuck in my yard and wanted me to pull it out with my truck. As soon as I seen it, I'm like tow truck! Money well spent!
