I bought the cheaper version, and love the user interface and fish weighing modes. That said, that thing just does not want to lock a weight in. That thing will bounce around forever vs a rapala scale. I’ve gotta get some more time using it before completely writing it off, but man my cheap rapala scale is about 10x faster and on close fish it’s never been wrong on weight when I put close ones on a beam, only downside is it won’t store weight and I need to use an accu cull board.

I cannot get the app to play nice with my phone though. I have tried numerous times to reload the app etc.
It just does not work on my phone. It's a pretty new phone with all the updates as well.

I’m having the same issue with my updated iPhone 14. App crashes every time. I was thinking it was an iOS 17 issue…

I can tell you it's well built, super simple to use. The color screen, storage case and lithium rechargeable battery is why I went with the upgraded version.
Dang, I didn't know either had a rechargeable battery, I completely missed that in the spec. I want one now.

Interested to hear your thoughts on the culling set, those clips look absolutely massive to me...

I kinda felt the same at first until I compared them to some others. They are average sized but like you said I'm curious as to how they perform. Gonna use them in about a week during a 2 day championship so we shall see.

Or just buy rechargeable aa batteries. Honestly with a scale it’s not like you are going to be constantly burning through batteries.

Had a chance to use the scale and the culling tags during a tournament. I am a fan. Scale us incredibly easy to use. It ended up being pretty well known the money with tbe tournament scakes at weigh in. The culling tags were great. Stayed on the fish just fine. Easy, one hundred operation too. I think my partner is impressed enough with both that he is buying both the scale abd the tags as well.

Dredging up an old thread because I have the exact opposite experience as this. I like the scale. It's very user friendly, but it isn't inline the tournament scales we've weighed in on. Mine weigh lower than tournament scales, and I'm okay with that. I crappie fish, but I'm usually off by 0.40-0.50lb when weights reach double digits. This past weekend I had 10.22 on my scales and tournament scales said 10.75. Last month I was off around 0.40. I reweigh fish and record my weights on an Accu-Cull Cull board, and go with best out of three or average of the three if its a little choppy and having trouble getting a good consistent lock.

Last month I had a 2.12lb big fish on my scales and tourny scales said 2.21. It's not a big deal as long as they're consistent, and I don't mind as long as Im lower than tourny scales, but I'd rather be accurate. One of my buddies has a Brecknell like MLF uses and he's usually withing a couple hundredths of tourny scales. Of course I use a cull beam if I have fish within a couple hundredths of one another as well.

All that to say, am I the only one having these issues?

I noticed that few fish that were weighed again at the request of the anglers came up different weight. That was concerning to me. DC and Omori come to mind.

I think consistency is all you can ask for

My scale will be very close to one tournament scale and under at another organizations tournament scale

Each scale was calibrated at different times and environments

You’re just looking to bring the most weight to the scale and as long as it can do that you’re in business

I've never had a scale that matched the tournament scale. Too many variables. The main one is that they will tare the scale with an extra weigh bag, then have another bag weighing fish that is wet. Obviously, you never want to be first to weigh in.

I have never cared that much if the weight matches the tournament as long as the scale is consistent and I can cull with it. Every time I have checked with a beam, it has been correct.

As long as it's consistent, but we don't use bags and the basket is usually wiped out after each person weighs. I suppose it's within acceptable perimeters if you take into account Bubba says +/-0.3%, and assuming the tourny scales are dead on, the water weight variances could attribute to another 1% or so, bringing it to the consistent 4-5% out of whack they are with tourny scales. I've only compared them to two different trails' scales, but they were off by roughly the same percentage each time.

You're gonna get that when weighing on the water in a boat.

And all you would have to do is have a hand full of 1/2 oz weights the fish could easily sallow . And let the cheating begin!
