Thanks. Anxious to see one, especially mine. I had actually thought of hanging up my fishing cleats but I knew I would not be happy if I did. I just didn't want a big, heavy 70 mph boat anymore to fish smaller lakes. I think a 188 with a 115 would have been fine but I do like larger boats and the 198 seems to be a good compromise. Could be my last one but I think I said that with my last boat.

... are you putting a hot foot on your 198P? Or sticking with the throttle lever?

I have a hot foot and blinker trim built in to the price. I think of one as a safety item. I can drive with both hands and if I did get thrown out and for some reason didn't have my kill switch attached the boat would at least go back to idle. Did you notice if there appears to enough room under the console to allow for one?

To install a hot foot the panel under the console would have to be remove to gain leg room, at least that's what I was told by one of the local dealers, if that's the case I'm sure the new access panel is just for storage.
I was set to purchase the RT198 back in march but backed out when the pandemic hit, I'm still chomping at he bit to get one, I'm 59 and the 21ft glass boat can be a handful to load by yourself due to the climbing on and off the front and over the tailgate. the 198 is much lighter and with the trailer steps added up front for easy in and out just makes sense to me if you fish a lot by yourself like I do.

I'm holding out hope there is room for the hot foot. I did find a used 19 model listed somewhere and it had a hot foot with what looked like no modifications. I'm a little vertically challenged at 5' 10" so maybe we can make it work. I'm 14 years your senior and have held off going with a lighter boat but feel like this will be a good fit for me for the way I fish. Being retired I no longer fish weekends or in inclement weather. I also don't fish all day any longer, 4 or 5 hours is good enough. Mostly I fish an 1100 acre lake but when I do go to the 3 large Corps lakes in my area I think the 198 will be a good fit. I also fish by myself quite a bit as I lost my high school classmate fishing buddy a few years ago. Easy in, easy out is important.
