If you are casting and winding, I find a Trilene knot with flouro slowly loosens and you risk casting off your lure unless you check it occasionally. So, I use a palamar knot for those baits with flouro and trilene for the rest.

This is the best I have found.

I use a double Pitzen down to 6# (but generally in #10-#15). I don't believe I've had a knot failure in over 100 trips. No risk of crossing things up like a Palomar.

Breaking at the jig? Double San Diego Jam Knot works for me make sure it's wet and done right or start over.

If professionals who's careers depend on catching fish use FFS then that's what I'm using. Might be too simple of a philosophy but makes sense to me.

Trilene knot is fine but I've never had issues with Palomar either. I've thrown line as light as 4lb with my 1/16 DS and ned setups. if you're having break-offs I would investigate drag settings before knots.

Same here. Just make sure to wet the knot before pulling it tight. I use it on 7x fluorocarbon tippet material when trout fishing. That's only about 2 lb. line.

I ice fish with 2lb Flouro and have caught quite a few decent size pike and bass with the palomar knot.

    +1.

I've never used anything else because that one very, very rarely lets me down.
