I'm curious why you would opt for the 225PM as opposed to repowering your 300?

Bryan had a BIG problem with his after market warranty company.

This motor has plenty of water pressure, running below the pad quite a bit, with a stock gearcase. These 3.0 L motors are the $hit....plenty of torque, great gas mileage, and good speeds.
Heres mine light fishing load, with a DAH 27 Trophy 2" above the pad 14" Rapidjack.....Ran out of Room haven't tried it again still pulling the dingleberry's out the crack off my ass got a little to close to the cypress trees checked the GPS when I got back to the ramp said 103 max speed I know it wasn't My truck it taps out at 100 with nothing behind it.....LOL

Just me (250+) full tanks, tournment loaded GPS 83.8 @ 54-5500 rpm. That was last weekend w/ temps in the middle 50s. I might try a Trophy 26 and see what happens. Could use a better hole shot. She's a bit slow gettin off the couch.

Crash,
Put a skid plate on it and go with a 26 trophy. Trust me.

Bryan,
I just got my new 20XRD Comp SE with the new 300XS Merc. I have run a 28 ET and spun it to the rev limiter at 6400. I would love to trade you outta that 30 ET if you are interested. I have one of the few Yamaha 'Cloppers" left out there. It is a 26 pitch and perfect. I cannot run it on my new boat since the 300XS has the fat shaft.
Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks,

Should get some better numbers once the dang hyacinth moves off the river, as it takes logs with it I cant run it all the way.
This is new to me so bear with me...02 20XD with an 02, 200 EFI Merc witha 25" Laser Plus and 10" jack plate. I absolutely adore the boat but am a little disappointed with the performance and am looking for some advice. The hole shot is not the greatest and after an entire summer in the seat, I only managed a top speed of 72MPH GPS. Any advice on what kind of prop would suit this boat better would be appreciated. I tried raising the motor as much as I could without losing water pressure and I was spinning out a lot on the whole shot so I had to lower it back down to approx. 3" below the pad. No low water pick ups either. I forgot to mention that I,m maxed out on the RPMs also....
Thanks

Welcome to the BBC Bruce...........
A Laser II is a totally wrong prop for a Bullet. I would think that a 26 or 27" Trophy would work much better. The guys here can help you better, but you definitely need to sell the Laser II.
