Startrd out over twenty years with lew's. Switched to Calcuttas these reels have been flawless for fifteen years . Picked up a new pro grade lew's it's nice but I still don't trust it. Has anyone tried the new Calcuttas there a little heavy but there nice.

I have had very good performance from the Johnny Morris elite and signature series , and the BPS Qualifer all are very good for the price . the 11 bearing Elite JM reel is about half the price of most other high end 10-11 bearing reels.

Another fan of the old round Pro Max and Black Max Ambassadeurs here. I switch to 5000 and 6000 series Ambasa deurs for bigger fish like stripers and catfish.
