    Trailor titles

I'm going to pick up a new boat that was purchased in OK. The guy is telling my bank that OK does not issue a title for the trailor, just that boat and motor?

Bank is saying there has to be something such as a certificate of ownership ect. Can someone enlighten us here?

    Thanks!

It's a 2002 Nitro 911. The boat is in Witchita but it looks like he bought and registered it in OK. You don't get a certificate or anything proving ownership on trailors?

have him pick up a letter from the tag office here...other states have to honor it...
we do not do anything on the trailers here..
it is a letter stating we do not have to tag or title them and a phone number of who to call if you state has a issue....all you will need is a notorized bill of sale showing the VIN number from the seller...
The letter will just make your state understand easier.............and make it easier on you

    Hey RkyMtn Bassin,

If this dude bought the boat new, he should have received a Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) for the trailer in the transaction. In Oklahome, we keep these lil ol pieces of paper in the instance we move out of state and have to tag the trailer!!!! Now if the dude registered the trailer in Kansas, he had to turn over that lil ol piece of paper and you will have to wade through a little doo doo. I recommend getting the selling dude to do the wading and procure a new MSO, from the trailer manufacturer, before you give him one little$$$$. I just went through the Kansas doesn't have a title but take your MSO so you can have a tag debacle and got a replacement MSO. Still have a little doo doo stuck in places.

    Good luck.

It also helps having that piece of paper when going to insure your rig. You will be asked how much to insure your trailer separate. Nice lookin' rig.
