Main river is pure mud with a lot of small stuff floating. Creeks look very good... Dan

    Re: Tanners (TE 863)

If they are we may have another lost spawn class. Looks like the Corp will be raising the river 7ft in the next couple of days. Not blaming them with whats going on down river in Illinois, Missouri and Louisianna... but damn I'd like to see the Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana DNR stock a couple million 3 to 4 inch bass fry. Cover and food aren't the proble with the river, it's spanwing habitat and lost classes due to flooding... Dan

    Re: Tanners (wfee)

Yes it is fishable and on FIRE! The 5 in the Salmoid on saturday at Tanners was:
    1st +16#'s
    2nd 11.88
    3rd 11.82
    4th 11.5 something
    5th 8.5

There is still some smaller debris and you need to be careful when running. Also be careful going into the creeks for the 1st time this year. With all the flooding and how high the river has been all spring I am sure some of the creek mouths have changed.

    Re: Tanners (BassHog007)

At what level does the Ohio River make Tanners become unusable to launch ? Didn't know if there was a magic number to use as a reference.

Anybody been down there to check out the parking lot conditions lately. Past historical high river levels usually fill the parking lot with tons of mud ??

    Thx,
    Gary

    Re: Tanners (Nikon Man)

Last weekend the river was at 36-37' at Cincy and the ramp was usable. You could probably use the ramp at probably 40-42' but that is just a guess. Also last weekend the ramp still had a thin layer of mud over the ramp.

    Re: Tanners (Nikon Man)

I went down today. River is at 40.5 and had to take my shoes off to get the boat on the trailer. Back tires were in about 6 inches of water. With 2 guys no problem.... Dan

Ramp has a lot of logs and trash blocking it. Parking lot is in great shape, the city had street sweepers out earlier this week. Dan

Lots of small branches and garbage. You should be able to dodge it and find some nice stretches of open water... Dan

    Re: Tanners (Dan200xl)

Went down to Tanners Monday, river was fine but what the hell is in the creek ??? I came out of there with and oil ring all around the boat. What ever it is, it's nasty and greasy/oily.
