    Cincinnati Fishing

    Cincinnati area anglers,
I recently moved to Cincinnati and as spring approaches I can't wait to get my boat on the water. The only problem is I know nothing about the area lakes and absolutely nothing about the Ohio River. So, if anyone is looking for a partner or interested in taking me out (or coming with me), showing me around, etc. on the river or local lakes, I would greatly appreciate it. I am mainly a bass fisherman, but early in the year I wouldn't mind catching some sauger or crappies or whatever bites until the water warms enough for the bass bite to pick up. The Cinci boat show and Saturday morning fishing shows have done nothing but bring spring fever on full force...

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Where did you move from?
There are a few places around here to fish. Ceasars creek(Dea Sea), EastFork, Cowan(10hp limit), Acton lake (10hp limit), Paint creek, Rocky fork, OH river, Brookeville (IN). Most of these places are about 1 hour from West Chester. We do not have very much grass in any of these lakes, some are shalllow some are deep. Most get pretty tough come summertime.

    Re: Cincinnati Fishing (Whitaker201)

I moved in from about an hour north west of Dayton. I grew up fishing lake loramie and grand lake st mary's; so I am used to fishing shallow muddy water. I have heard of Caesar's Creek and Brookville, but never fished them. The last couple years I have not fished a lot, but I did some nice trips to Erie, Guntersville, Kentucky Lake, which held me over till the next major trip. I am looking to get out more often locally and not take as many far trips.

good ole Grand Lake ST. Marys...that lake has some issues...if they were smart, they would just drain it.

Rocky Fork, IMHO, is the best Lake in the South/Shouthwest part of the State.

If you like shallow muddy water the OH river is the ticket. I have caught fish off of wet dirt down there!

ha ha, st mary's is strugglin for sure . My father and I used to catch a lot of nice fish up there years ago. I have some family that live up there, I won't even bring my pole anymore...I usually just settle for a cold one.

I've never fished KY, but I've been fishing Barkley for 30 years. I go down there 4 - 6 times a year.
