    converting OMC 115 to 140

i have a 1979 evinrude 115 that i rebuilt last year running good about 50 hours on it now. i have heard that the only difference between 115 and 140 is carbs and the bubble back exhaust. was wondering if anyone has done this and what years i can cross over from my 1979.

Dont even mess with it. Blocks are different(plus other differences). By just bolting on the bubble will not make 140 hp. leave the 115 alone, just gonna wind up with a bunch of problems.

we use to bolt on the buble exhaust and the deflectors, change carbs and install a set of land & sea heads ............I still have a set of heads and 150 carbs

Did you experience any real significant increase in horse power?
