Is there any good shore fishing around the Columbus area? I will be in Columbus all next week on business and I am going to be bored out of my mind.

Alum Creek is one option but it can be hit or miss, at least on my experience. The good thing about that lake you can fish for LM or SM, if you can find them. You can always catch some short fish and maybe a keeper off the dump rock on the dam.
O'shaughnessy is also there, part of the scioto river system. I have had some success there.
Hoover is another lake in Westerville, but it is a 9.9 lake.

There are plenty of places to shore fish in the Columbus area. If I knew what area you are staying I could give you a better starting point. Close to downtown is Antrim lake and also Griggs which is the river. Alum creek is up just north of the outerbelt off 71 and Polaris parkway. Delaware lake is North of outerbelt on 23 about 15 minutes. Plus their are metro parks that you can fish. I would stay away from Buckeye unless you are staying close to it. You could also drive around in developments and fish the retiang ponds which hold good numbers of bass. Good luck
I appreciate all the advice. I am staying at the Hyatt I believe.
