Any BBC'ers own the above truck or know someone who does??
I was just wondering how those were on gas? 2008-2012 models.
I have a chevy z71 2011 just wondering if the city mpg's are better on toyota.

That should be the 4.0 v6. Good motor but probably not the step up in mileage that you might think compared to the Z71 you have dependent on your motor.
A buddy has a 2009 4x4 and he gets about 20 on the highway and 15 to 16 around town. The Toyota V6's all the way back to the 3.0 (88 thru 94) and 3.4 (95 thru 04) have never been great on gas mileage. They will take the miles though.
He has towed my 18ft Ranger with it and although I was not driving (I was a passenger) it did not seem to struggle at all. His is an auto.
My wife has a 2010 model, 2wd though, it gets around 17 in town. Pulling the boat it gets about 11-12 mpg.
Your gas savings would not be noticeable most likely. I went from a 4x2 Tacoma to a Silverado several years ago and got better average MPG with the Chevy.
My 2010 Tacoma (V6) will get about 15 MPG pulling the boat where my Silverado (V6) gets about 13 MPG..
I am trying to sell the Silverado to get another Tacoma.. but mainly because the Silverado doesn't suit me well due to a leg/hip/back issue I have..

I have an 02 4x4 double cab v6 and it isn't that good. It is better than the tundra I had before though. I did get around 20 on a trip to TN but around 17 in town
I have a 2011 4x4 Tacoma I drive back and forth to work. I get 19.9 to 20.9 consitantly. Ive got 20k on it and bought it in Sept.. I'm definitely going to test this thing out lol...
It's a very corfortable truck! I love it but I would not want to pull with it all of the time. It will pull my boat but I still have my diesel for that.
If anybody wants a good power decent fuel econamy truck. You have to go drive a Ego Boost Ford F150.
I appreciate everyone's thoughts. so basically theres not enough difference in mpg's for me to switch trucks. the one toyota i was looking at was stick shift i thought that made a difference. maybe not.
thanks again,
Allen
