    Winter Fishing & Boat Heaters

So I was talking with some buddies about whether or not I can take it this Winter and fish when it's miserable out (OK I admit it, I can't take it! ) but they said that one guy they knew had come up with this great boat heater concoction and they sent me some pictures of it so I thought I'd share them with you.

I did not really put 2&2 together but we're standing on a 100% HIGHLY FLAMMABLE chemically made vessel that's got a 50 gallon bomb inside of it with a 1/8" of polyethalyne holding it together (or aluminum in my case as Phoenix uses aluminum fuel cells) but none the less it got me thinking....

Starts with this which looks pretty cool!

Can quickly go to this which is not so cool...

And finally, these guys show up (if you are lucky)....

Man, all of that to catch these....

there has to be some type of battery operated heater. I cannot see where an electric version that would run off our crankin or TM batteries would be good as they would be big power hogs. I certainly would not use a gas heater and flame.

Hot Hands! I fished Jordan Lake many times and saw many fishermen out under and around Farrington bridge staight line for Crappie using the propane heaters with no problems. JUST HAVE TO BE EXTRA CAREFUL. I never used one but thought about it seriously a couple times.

286PRO has one just like this... fished two Tx's last year when the high for the day wasn't above freezing. This thing was awesome to warm your hands, I can't fish with gloves... One of those Tx's we won water temp was 38 degrees that day, Tbirck had to break ice out to the river channel that morning with the Ranger. Will say that if you have one or thinking of getting one you need to take extra safety measures. Ed has his secured in a milk crate which makes it very difficult to knock over and the heater is never lit when the boat is moving.

War Eagle bass boats have heaters built in to the console. Not that hard to do.

I think there seems to be a bit of BS flying around the site tonight. I am agreeing with CoachABU What's with all the warm up stuff just go out and Man Up.

You just keep thinking about those little kittens and don't look into any kind of heater Of course we all know that you are just a fair weather fisherman like a couple others Don't want you blowing a head gasket thinking about this
