First time fishing Lookout Shoals. Need Help!!!

Hey , Im in a small club tournament next weekend (July 16) at Lookout Shoals and I know nothing about it. I had 2 buddys fishing there this weekend and they only got keepers in a about 7 hours. Do they like deep crank baits or should i just sick with the old worm. Thankyou for any help you can give me.

Bite should improve with the flow increase Norman coming up up and up due to mountain rains, and when the flow is good the bite improves I hope cause Norman is dead as a door nail

All true particularly Norman being dead right now other than a deep drop shot bite and a night bite. Did fish Lookout a few weeks ago and caught fish on blowdowns along the bank early with a frog, pop-r, and flipping a beaver in them.

Sun came up and I pulled out with the baitfish on the lower end and drop shotted up a few. Did not get any bites in the river despite fishing everything that looked great.

Deep crank got me nothing, caught mine on beaver baits in cover, and shakey head/drop shot worms out in 20' that day. It was bluebird skies, hot as heck, and the water was super clear. Look for deep brush piles at the mouths of coves and on the points of those coves and drop a deep worm on em.

Water was clear then and low but I bet after 4" of rain it's up and has some color in it.

Docks and Points are a good strategy if all else fails as the bluegill are all over the bank up there.
