    Hard starting (cold)

Went out yesterday morning. I have a 2000 225 Ram Ficht, and had the time of life trying to get it started at the ramp. About 20-25 tries. Pumped the ball hard, turn key on, wait for fuel pump to pressurize the rail, hit the starter. It will fire and run for 2-3 seconds and stall. After a bunch of attempts it stayed running and ran like normal. No codes, lights, beeps,
nothing. Just a real bear to get going when cold. Anyone else have any cold start issues like this.... Or a known cure for it.......

Whens the last time you checked the plugs, worn ( excessive gap) can cause this. Check for correct gap .028 and proper indexing.

You say EXCESSIVE GAP can cause this....Would .065 be considered excessive..... Just put in a new set (QC12PEP) gap set at .028 and all indexed. Michael I owe ya a couple thanks for the O'Reillys tip for plugs. $4.89 ea..... I ordered 12 figgured I have some left for the next time... Took me 9 of them to get them indexed. We'll give it try in the morning and see how it starts cold, but I'm thinking it's gonna be a vast improvement........

Update.............Ran the motor Friday and Saturday, Starts right up cold and run great all day Sat....... Thanks again for the help....
