85 115 Johnny hits WOT and then dies

Hey all:

got an 85 Johnson 115 with vro ermoved. Boat ran great at startup, hit 44mph for about 45 seconds, then cold died like the kill switch was pulled. Rrestarted fine, up to WOT again...died shortly thereafter...restart you get the picture...Fished a bit, then restart, WOT, died and would only go about 8mph....Took her home after that.

Now, research is leading me to believe that it is a powerpack gone bad. Tried priming while running on the lake-no difference...tried the bulb...no diff...

Any thoughs on the powerpacks being the culprit.

Sure sounds like a fuel problem to me.

Just an update: Turned out to be a bad wire...fixed then sold it.
