2 day total will be less than 18lbs....7lbs makes the state team.

Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (SteveDyer)

the thing most guys are not remembering is the TBF is full of out of towners that may only fish the area 1st or twice in their life and most likely only one river in the Sound. Unlike the Coastal anglers that live within and hour drive. Which most are very up to date on areas all over the Sound. I think the Weather will play a very large role in weights.
I hate (but understand) that the TBF rotates regions. Would be nice to always have in a central location in the State. 6 & 7 hour drives are going to keep the attendance down on this one. just like when the western region use to have it on Fontina lake.
WHAT WILL BE WiLL Bee.... Deal the cards and place your bets!
Im ready to RUMBLE,get this SH#T going!!

Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (PATRO)

I don't remember saying it didn't suck, but look how many people entered...The Western Region, the biggest by far is eligable to send 96 people 48 boaters and 48 non. At the meeting last week they had 14 boaters and 20 odd non-boaters going...anyone who fished the regional can go. Why? Because its too far, too specialized, has no ammenities, and history has shown the fishing will suck....it has never not sucked on a tidal river tourney.

These tournaments should be on lakes with towns close that can support them.

A well rounded fisherman should be able to fish under all conditions...just because you western guys like lakes (I do too for that matter) doesn't mean eastern NC should be excluded from hosting the state tx. Maybe all the western guys are just scared

Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (chris c)

lol...when have the Eastern guys ever dominated them?? Its almost always one local and the majority from the west.

Personally I like it, but river and/or tidal fishing is not a "condition". It's a totally different type of bass fishing than 95% of the federation members do. Yes, you can go there and spend 2 days 3 miles either side of the landing, but thats not really how this place is fished.

I ask again if its so great, why are so few people going? Gaston got a good crowd...so did Kerr, but the Chowan and now this have both been busts.

Now with the economy as it is the Federation should also be working to make the event as central and affordable to all the clubs as possible.

The Federation will suffer if they continue to hold events where only a very select few want or can afford to go.

Just my opinion Chris...hope you all have fun and catch fish.

Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (SteveDyer)

I def. agree with you that there are better locations to fish, but it could be worse....what if they had it on the Neuse, or worse yet, Cape Fear There isn't going to be a single site that will make everybody happy. I just wish everybody luck, I hate to see anybody make a long trip to fish a tx and come up empty. I don't know what the answer is...Kerr sucks, Gaston can be tough this time of year, Norman is a long ways away for the eastern nc guys, High Rock is central also, but the locals will wipe the floor with most of us

I have already decided to fish the feds next year, and will fish the state tx, if I make it, whereever it is.

You must first qualify in a club to make 6man and then do good in that to go to state. You can't go to 6man by fishing the federation trail.

Yeah, I realize that...consider the club/6-man as "fed stuff"

If the attendance stays down, you want even have to fish a 6-man divisional to go to state tx

Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (bass boss)

I made it as a boater as well but have elected to say home. If i am gonna drive that far I am keeping on going to Buxton with the surf gear.
Plus never been on tidal water in my life.

Besides I just spent two wonderfull days on Lake James fishing the BASS federation 6 man. It only took 9lbs over two days to make the state team.
I don't always find schooling fish but when I do I backlash on the first cast

<table width="90%" cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0 align=center><tr><td>Quote, originally posted by chris c &raquo;</td></tr><tr><td class="quote">I def. agree with you that there are better locations to fish, but it could be worse....what if they had it on the Neuse, or worse yet, Cape Fear There isn't going to be a single site that will make everybody happy.

Did somebody say Cape Fear? Sure gets my vote...Even better if it's Northeast Cape Fear..better tidewater movement....Our six man is going to be there next year..hope the Southeast decides to have the state there next time it roles around to our turn to host...have lots of drop outs then Anyway, Hope everyone gets on um at the Noke next weekend..

Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (USS COMANCHE)

Hey Comanche, don't invite them to our neck of the woods. They need to leave our pets alone. Those fish are for only us to catch. Fishing can be tough everywhere this time of year. If you are given lemons make lemonade. Best of luck to all of you at the Roanoke.

Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (DerekL)

Do not understand the tidal thing. Our rivers are effected by the tides very very little. The wind is what makes the water rise or fall. I feel for those fishing this weekend, with all this rain the water will probably be like chocolate milk and if Gaston got alot of water then the river will probably be running. Here is a link to check the flow and water highths at various places on the river. http://www.srh.noaa.gov/serfc/ahps_RVFNC.php If I was staying on the river I would be looking for black water from the swamps flowing into the river. Hope this helps and best of luck to each of you.
