    championman I need help asap

I have a Stratos with a 1997 Johnson faststrike 150. I just got the boat it has been sitting since last spring and has not been cranked. I got all the old fuel out and cleaned the fuel lines added new fuel with seafoam drained and cleaned the carbs. I took it o
ut today it ran fine initially ran for 30 minutes then stopped and fished for an hour or so. When I went to crank the motor again it idles rough and when I put it in gear and throttle up the motor bogs down and dies. I came home drained the carbs again and it seems to be running fine again. I also pulled and cleaned the small screen filter which had a small amount of debris in it. What. Could have caused this. Also my buddy said I need to get rid of the check valve on the tank and do a vro pump bypass what is your opinion. Thanks

The basics, Replace eerything from the fuel tanks to the carbs. Lines, filters, and bulb with quality products. Then change the plugs. Go to the lake and try it again.

I personaly would leave the VRO since it appears to be working just fine now. There are many post on here about this issue.

I had a similur issue as to what you are having now. i replaced everything from the anti-siphoning valves to the vro pump. after putting all new in the motor runs like a top. No issues since. I think it cost me about $450 for everything including the new vro2 pump.

Pull the carb bowl drain plugs, let them drain and tap on the side of the bowls. Re-install the drain plugs and pump the bulb. Wash belly pan with water no schmoking.

Thanks ChampioNman I did that when I got home the other day then hooked it up to the muffs. The motor seemed to idle normally going to go ahead and do a decarb this weekend then run and replace plugs and go from there. Thanks for the reply.
