    High Rock Help

I need some information on High Rock if anyone is willing to share. Our club is having a tournament there on June 19th and I have never been on the lake. We will probably have 12 or 13 boats fishing. I could use any help on location to fish, lures, color, depth, etc. We will be putting in at the Southmont ramp and I am hoping to go look around and pre fish some this coming weekend. Not looking for anyones "honey hole" just would like to have some ideas before hand. PM me if you can give me info and don't want everyone else know.

be prepared for a crowd.the north carolina division bfl will be there that day.as far as fishing info goes,if you don't know the lake well, pick your flipping rod up and fish as many piers as possible.there are several bridges on the lake and the riprap is always good for a fish or two. good luck.

A buddy of mine swears by dock fishing there on main lake coves during the summer, he is a pretty good stick and H.R. is his home lake. Also said if you are not skipping a jig up under them you will not catch much. PM me your email if you like and I will pass it on to him. I bet money he will tell what he knows. He actually fished there this past weekend.

    Best luck no matter what!!!!

Green Pumpkin with same color trailer or better yet a White jig w/white or pearl zoom super chunk. If it's clear use a yamamoto white twin tail grub with the same jig as it does not displace as much water but they can find it good.

If you throw a spinner bait, get a chart/white one with smaller silver blades if it's sunny, painted blades (white/chart) if it's cloudy. Fish it TIGHT to docks. The lake is high and the fish are dirt shallow. Pier pilings up near the bank with rip rap shoreline should be good. Remember, they want something over their head (walkway, pier, platform, etc). Doubt you'll catch many in open water with the lake as high as it is so stay shallow.

I concur with the "stay shallow" statement

    Re: High Rock Help (sjmcleod06)

Thanks for the info, I am going to go check out the lake in the morning. What areas should I be sure to check out. Again, I know absoutely nothing about High Rock. I am putting in at Southmont and I understand that is the Abbots creek area. I am willing to try the areas you guys tell me and don't look to take anyones "Honey Holes". Thanks again for your help.
