With the crazy amount of pro boats, both elite and flw, that are for sale on social media each year, I would guess the number that get them "free" is quite low. Discounted, sure.

Why would that matter? My guess is a lot of free boats are sold so the guy can get in black for the season.

Because the.number selling has nothing to do with it being discounted or free. My point was respectfully you didnt have one.

So you believe that the boats we see for sale are free, sold for profit, and then the pro is given a free boat again to do this all over again?

In some cases yes. Sure most are disciunted heavily not free, but that has nothing to do with why they are selling. They are selling to cash out and start over either way.

When you buy a Pro's boat, does the Pro set the selling price or do you have to go through his dealer or the boats brand Company to get your price and paperwork?

Most of the ones I see its the individual, or dealer broker.

I know some pros are "assigned" to a dealer that delivers/rigs their new boat and handles the sales of the old boat.

I also do not subscribe to the theory that these pros contribute to the high cost of boats. The manufacturer still gets paid, a dealer makes a sale and the promotional cost for dealer/manufacturer can be written off as advertising costs. Throw in the fact that many pros directly cause some boat sales as well and positively add to the bottom line and profits.

The "memo bill" is due on the old boat. So, he either has to pay for the boat (or finance it) and run it another year. Or, sell the boat and then get a new discounted rig to run the following season.

    Similar to a promissory note.

I know of someone who basically does something very similiar to this, lets him get a new boat for such a good deal he can make money on the sale and then buy another.

Yup, but not because of the "free crap" they get. Many have other sources of income and just about all the younger / up and coming guys have wives that work steady jobs to help with not only expenses but also small things like credit ratings and eating.

Other established pros have genuine endorsement contracts with a regular paycheque, but in laymen terms these are often closer to part time jobs at not often great pay rates compared to what you or I get paid. Very few get paid because they look cool in the sponsors colors, there are set numbers of appearances, client entertainment, commercials etc tied to them. You may think shooting a commercial is cool and you would do it for free but it is still time and often extra travel time is also needed to bring equipment (truck, boat) to the sponsors location. Not bad work if you can get it, but it is still work.

Where do you keep getting this banks and free crap combination from? Your stupid analogy bought the banks into the conversation. You think they are poor and can’t get loans, sure...I feel real bad for them, good thing they have a new tour where they can all get paid.

Poor fishermen get free merchandise, get paid by sponsors and have boats that don't cost them.

Poor guys, what will they do when they go to the bank? Poor ol’ Aaron Martins can’t even afford to buy deodorant.
