For you larger E-Tec owners, what is the largest pitch prop that is working ok on the e-tecs. I have a 200 ho e-tec and am currently running a 27 pitch mazco but would like to try a larger pitch. I am just curious how high anyone has had success with.

I am running a 28 Raker...On a 225 HO E-Tec getting speeds in the mid 70's with full everything!!!

That might be OK in cooler temps but I bet your about maxed for this time of year. I wouldn't drop any cash until I tried it..SMG
The biggest prop we could turn on the 225 was a 28 Raker, it will turn the 30 but it holds the RPM's down to much, on the 200 I would say a 26 or 28 as long as the RPM's stay around 5800 but not over.
thanks for the replies: I have tried the ballistic 24 pitch from my old motor, did not run over the 5800 rpms but could have, we did have throttle left. Ran a couple different raker 26's, one out of the box, one "worked" and both props would turn 5800 or better and now the mazco 27 four blade and still turning 5800 to 5900. was just wondering how high do I need to go. Added the weed ring to the mazco (smaller diameter) and that improved the hole shot a lot. 69 mph (gps) at 5900 rpms but it did eliminate the chine walk at top speed. The "worked" raker ran 71 mph but would want to chine walk at top speed. I'm not sure but I think 5700-5800 rpms sound like the spot I want to get to, not the 5900-6000 rpms.

I'm running the 27P tempest on my 225 H.O. etech and so far its been great. Top speed thus far is 74 GPS on a 21X Triton. Good hole shot and all around performance. I was thinking about a 26P bravo for a back up prop for large tourney loads and or waterskiing.
I"am running a 28 Bravo on my 225ho e-tec.IT"s a little slow out of the hole,untill I get some holes drilled in it,midrange is awsom,& I"am not sure what true top speed is yet.I don"t have a gps but it will bury the speedometer.I can still bring the motor up some,but will have to modify the jackplate to get it higher.I checked with my dealer to see what the max rpm"s I have turned & it was 5659(I was checking it aganist the tac).This is on a 209 Gambler.
I am running a 29 tempest on my triton 200xp. Not all that quick out of the hole, but once she's on plane it will turn between 5900-6000 rpms by myself.
Guys, you need to keep the RPM's at 5800, no higher.
Tach's can be off so have your dealer check the max RPM on the motor.
