2001 Evinrude Ram 225

I am considering trading in my 1992 Javelin 389T for a 2002 Stratos 20xl with a 2001 Evinrude Ram 225 and have heard a lot of negatives about this year model motor and need advise on both the boat and motor.

i have not had any problems with my motor to speak of---runs great--starts everytime with no smoke---

I never heard any such rumors, Mines been ok, a few minor problems but never blown up. The problems were with the early ficth 150 and 175's

Your dealer is incorrect, the 2001 motors were very good motors, to bad for OMC, to little to late.

Thanks for your help as I was holding off on making the deal but just contacted the dealer of the 2001 and he is adding 90 days coverage on the motor .
