    New install on old boat...

Working on what i thought an easy part of the task... swapping gps puck out for the new unit. I thought i could just tie a rope on pull tje old out and the new in. Graph is mouted on starboard at the console. Seams the cable is for the puck is some how run through the port side tube but it does not come out up front... it is a z520. Any one have any ideas? I assume i can not use the old puck here and need to get the new o e with heading sensor installed.

Well i have been at it for 2 hours now... transducer is mounted and cable run. Still trying to get the gps cable pulled out it looks like they ran it behind the seat... was thinking of just cutting it out. Any ideas?

Running the new is not the issue it is pulling the old one out. I don't think a Snake will help me remove the old GPS puck and Cable. It looks like they ran the GPS cable up the port side and under the bench seat but it will not budge at all. I may have to pull the seat out.

For those of you that ever find yourself in thr same BOAT.... I pulled the seat tonight and found that the one cable i need is bundled with all the other wires that are back there and secured with about a dozen cable ties... i guess they need to be replaced anyway after 10 years. See the pic below

Wire cutters and some new tie wraps are you are in business.

Had to pull my seat to run a new power cable from bow to battery. Ran the cable thru gunnel from bow to console but couldn’t get it thru gunnel from console to back of boat. Took two of us to put the seat back as one held the seat in alignment with screw holes while other replaced the screws.
