hey guys my tilt went out today at he ramp just before loading. when you push the up button it sound like something shorting out in the solinoid ( thats what it looks like to me anyway) down button dosen't do any thing. also is there a manual release to lift the motor? lucklly it was just high enough to get it home.

sorry it's a1979 johnson 85hp. i know its an oldie but goodie but I don't think the previous owner did any maintanence.

There is a manual release valve on the right side, its in a hole in the stern bracket.
You may want to check the trim motor.
Part number for the solenoid is 521528 and forgot about them old onboard trim boxes. To make them go up reverse the leads but you have to disconnect them from the solenoid first so you don't start a fire. CM
