motor runs great wide open but will not idle while in gear at very low speeds ,seems as if it is running with a fouled plug ,but when i tap the electric choke it trys to pick back up. if i give more throttle and it doesnt die it will run great from quarter to wide open with no problem. i changed the plugs but no help.also if i continue to sqeeze the primer bulb it helps somewhat.
Sound like fuel starvation if it picks up when you hit the primer. I would have the synch and link checked and then adjust the mixture for the lowspeed on the carbs a bit richer ONLY after I checked compression, if it's not even or within 10% of each other the motor needs to be rebuilt.

Try bumping up your idle timing a tad. And check your fuel hoses for cracks.
