    Re: (moodyjeremy)

Here's the thing though, what Ms town at Pickwick is gonna put in a bid? I think this year was supposed to go to south Ms and there were no bids. You would think it would be at Barnett but no bids. Last year was north Ms and no bids. Next year it will be back to central Ms. If Columbus didn't have a standing bid and if Starkville Bass Club wasn't hosting then we probably wouldn't have had a state tournament for the past 2 years.
If you would like for it to move then find a bid and let your club offer to host it. I'm guessing it will be back at Columbus again next year.

Back in the day, my former club, River Run Bass Club, used to host it here also. Mainly because Columbus puts up like 15 grand and in-kind services. It's a great venue as far as amenities and such, but the lake sucks. (almost as bad as Grenada) BTW, in 2005, when it was at Grenada, it took them like 6 months to get us the money.

I'm just glad I don'thave to fool with that crap any more,

There isn't a town north of Fulton that would be close enough to the water to put in a bid. Iuka....maybe, but they are a solid 10-15min ride from the river.

Once you get north of Aberdeen lake....the Tenn-tom really clears up. The only other pool that remotely gets muddy is Lock B (Smithville) and that because of Bull Mountain Creek. Tons of hydrilla up this way.....which helps the quality of fishing.

Yeah he said it mats up pretty good up there. Lots of big fish being caught.
