    2004 Evinrude 225 H.O Non-Etec (Water Pressure)

Guys, what's the water pressure range on these 225 H.O Evinrudes-non etec? It looks like I'm running anywhere from 8-12lbs water pressure. I've only saw the pressure at slow to moderate speed planes and not at w.o.t. It seems like when I'm just putting around it's at only like 4lbs. When I'm on plane say at 50mph or less it's like 10lbs or less. Do these motors run at a low water pressure? What is the water pressure? Is it the pressure of the water entering the intake or is it the pressure of the water going through the engine to cool it and is speed affected by this? Is it the throttle that affects this?

    Thanks!!

I have a 2004 200 HO. My water pressure is about the same. When I called my dealer he said that was fine and asked if the overheat alarm was going off. I said no and he said you are good. I have always beem worried about that. The motor is a year and a quarter old and doing fine so I guess it's alright. I don,t think the motor is really high enough but don't dare play with it because of the water pressure as it is.

The 04 DI motors wont have as much water pressure as the earlier motors.

4 to 10 pounds is about all it will have.

high volume at low pressure-v-lower volume at high pressure. I think that sums it up for the 2004 225 H.O. -v- other models

Mine runs 4-8# at 2-4000 rpms and goes up incrementally as RPM's increase to a top of 18# at 58-5900., running the motor pretty high also. Drops off a little in turns...SMG

    Re: 2004 Evinrude 225 H.O Non-Etec (Smallmouthguy)

Mine's an 05 225 HO and it's running about 17 psi @ 5300 rpms. That water is getting too hot for me to turn the rpm's with my prop I was earlier. I'm running a 28 raker...should I try a 26. I've got a 26, but its one of the older ones. My 28 is new, but not a raker 2. Propshaft is 2 1/2 below pad. Raised it up 1/4'' and finally got it too high. It's amazing how high these motors run! Someone suggested a 27 vmx....any thoughts?

Nice to know I'm not alone. 11-12 is all I ever get on my 2004 225 HO. Once in a blue moon it will jump as high as 14-15.

I have a brand new 225 E-tec HO on a 200 PRO XL 2 1/4 below the pad . I get about 6-7 PSI at Idle and aboiut 16- 18 WOT. PEE hole shoots a steady hard stream.

Rude Dog, does the stream start out fairly slow for about a minute before it shoots the steady hard stream. I have a 200 ho etec and that is what is happening with mine

The stream of water will start out weak, then it will increase in pressure as the block fills with water.
