    XD100 Oil in AUSTRALIA

    Hello Huey:
    Just a quick one.
What sort of money should I be paying for a bottle of XD100 oil here in Australia for my 2007 ETEC175. With Kevin Rudd worth about the same of Barrack O'Bahma (AUS / US currency) $1 for $1, it should be about................... when say compare to various US web sites.
    Hope you have been behaving
    regards Joff

Re: XD100 Oil in AUSTRALIA (canningtonj)

Hi Joff, I have been busy and away for a few weeks so sorry for the delay. To answer your question is a hard one because price varying alot. The cheapest way to buy is by the 55G drum, but not many owners would want to do that, unless you had a few mates that got together. We have had 55G drums in the past and offered re-fills but it got too time consuming.

Long story short we are at $65/G for single buy and cheaper if you buy by case-6G bottles-which is the most popular way people do it.

    Cheers,

    Huey.

    Hi Champ
Its just over 90centsAU to 1 of yours $'s...its predicted to go higher than your $ just after xmas...that's why we are buying a lot of stuff from the US....you in the US get it easy when it comes to selection of goods.

Hi, yes our exchange rate is good at the moment and it is a problem we have here with people buying from OS, but I think the freight cost of oil will not make it cost effective. Things like sounders are always being imported but to freight a case of oil weighing about 30kg would be alot and this same freight cost has to be factored into the price. For the average boater the amount of oil used per year is not alot and you could go and buy some cheap brand oil, but I would not run anything but XD-100 in an E-TEC.

    Cheers,

    Huey.

Humm one would think that BRP Asia/Australia would be able to put a 55 gallon drum of oil on a ship and not have to pay a million dollars (sic) to satisfy customers down under, if that doesn't work out for a BRP dealer then there is always Domo.com http://www.domo-online.com/. Here in the US. There has to be a better way to ship oil that is consumer friendly.

Hi Fred, yes mate you would think so and yes I can buy and supply a customer a 55G drum of oil so that is the cheapest way. At present we have specials on XD-30 oil at $24 per G when you buy a 55G drum, so that would even stack up well with US prices.

    Cheers,

    Huey.
