Tilt on 2004 115HP Johnson won't go all the way up

I have a 4 stroke 2004 115HP Johnson and the engine no longer will tilt all the way up so I can engage the tilt lock lever. I do not know when it stopped working but it used to work fine. Just noticed it the other day. It stops about 1/2" shy of engaging the lever.

I tilted it up as far as it would go and verified there was plenty of fluid (it started to leak out when I loosened the fill cap so I assumed it was full). Any idea what it could be? Is the tilt sensor subject to moving? I have not fooled with it.

Sounds like the tilt limit switch has moved....Let me see if I can remember how to adjust it.............I think its in the front of the motor at the steering tube, you can move it so the motor will tilt up more.

Yup, you are right! I was just logging on to say I figure dit out myself. It spins like a ratcheting dial and I just roated it forward enough so the limit switch didn't close for another inch! Thanks!
