    Putting seafoam in boat gas

I seen on trucks forum a comment of adding seafoaf into the boat gas a a regular decarbing mixture. Is this recommended??? I think I would rather have the bomb decarb for my personal use.
"yes the liquid seafoam in the can is what some people use in their outboards to help prevent carbon build up i use it in mine 1oz to 10 gal gas. the deepcreep you can use it like you would a spray throttle body cleaner."

I would use only Bomb products.

    Ray,
What some people do is take off their water seperators and then pour Seafoam into the cup and re-install it. They do this to de-carb as they call it a "shock treatment" I prefer the engine tuner from OMC/BRP.

I read my manual that suggest use of other addatives caan result in engine failure which is not worth the gamble for me. Ill stick to the bomb products, others can choose what they wish. But to use it all the time as a fuel additive to me can cause internal damage, these products like seafoam have stuff in them that can cause harm if left in too long dont they? So to me why run it ALL the time?

If you run good oil in it XD-50 you will not have to decarb but once a year just to be safe. If you run XD-30 then I would decarb spring and fall depending on usage. If you are running a DI motor then run the XD-100 and you won't have to decarb for a long while.

Not a di motor 1995 150, but I decarbed and switched to XD50 last month . The only thing I would like is to get this thing to not fog the river on restarts, I replaced the oil tank/sender/rubber lines/ carb rebuild this spring. Now when you sit for 30 min and restart it smokes up a storm. Im going to try the hole in the cap thing I read here and see what that does.

I've been using seafoam in everything I own for years. It's good stuff but any manual is going to tell you to use thier products. If bomb. makes a tuner similar, it's prolly just as good. For decarbing, I use bomb. products. For regular maint. I use seafoam. It does a lot of cleaning and claims to coat engine parts for more protection. My tractors love it.
