    Thanks Guys

Well guys....I guess it's time I take my leave....there is something wrong with this so-called club we've got.....we've tried to let you guys pick the lakes and dates with no luck...we've tried to fish on Sundays at the request of a couple of you...I've asked what we could do to get the turn-outs better.....the only thing left is me,and I'm done.

I'll still be on the boards, and still fishing....most of you guys know how to get ahold of me if you want to get together....the thing that I"M NOT going to do is try to set up anything or drum up excitement....if someone wants to take over,be my guest.

I've had fun at ALL of our events.....I've driven around 3 states to fish with these great BBC guys.....I just can't figure out whats wrong with us....the 'Bama guys get 8-12 boats EVERY tourney....I'm sure those guys have lives just like our guys do.....why is it that THEY show up?????

On that note,I'm going to bid a fond farewell to the GA/SC CHapter of the BBC....Ya'll take care.

Sorry to hear that Todd. I do think that summer time is difficult to organize anything, with vacations, baseball, and the TOO HOT temps etc. causing people to do other things with their families. With gas prices it is tough on everybody. Don't take it personal, I think you are doing a fine job, and hope you will reconsider for the fall when it cools down and the fish bite better.

Don said it all Todd and I understand. I wish I could have fished more but things haven't worked out that way this year. I'll stay in contact with you, both phone and BBC.

    Todd,

Sorry things never quite worked out with this club the way you had hoped they would. I have tried to make as many as I could, but work and family have stopped me from coming a few times, not the lake, or distance.

I knew before we ever actually started the club that I would not make many events, but I said that from the beginning, and I also stated that Sundays would draw a lot more people, in my opinion, as I know many others also work on Saturdays.

It was decided that Church would interfere with too many folks on Sundays, so Saturdays were chosen.

This club is all about fellowship and meeting friends from BBC, and not so much about competition.

I miss too many family events due to work, and when off, only get to make about 20% of the others if I am lucky. I can fish any day I am off during the week, so it''s not a big deal.

I say don't sweat it, and just go fish, If others show up, great but if they don't you still spent the day fishing.

    Todd,
Nothing personal and you've done a great job trying to make it work . You have to remember that the Bama guys are real close to a lot of lakes up their way. I'm sure Winn doesn't have a bunch show up from their low country.
Most of your "regulars" show up but you have to remember quite a few of the fellas have kids that are into a bunch of sports and the Dads need to be there, I know when I was growing up I wanted my Dad to come watch me play! I think you have a good Idea with your plan that we talked about and it will take time to grow it. There are a lot of guys that live in the metro area that post on various boards on the BBC and they won't even give us a sniff. Like I told you earlier I don't get it!
I don't mind going over to GA to fish and thanks for coming over to our side ! CM

    Re: Thanks Guys (ChampioNman)

I think Fred is right. Many folks in the metro ATL area won't consider fishing our tourneys because there is not enough $$$ involved in them to make it worth their efforts and cost to get there. We don't really want those folks there anyway, because they are there for the wrong reasons.

Whenever I can get to one of the tourneys I get there. Doesn't matter about the weather, or distance to drive, or what lake. If I can make it I make it. Sometimes I make the choice to spend some family time with the wife and kids supporting their acivities, but normally I miss them due to work.

Over the past 11 days I have worked 132 hours, and that does not include the 40 hours + that I had to commute.

Gonna try and fish some over the next couple of days before headiing back to work on Thursday.

Todd Fred and Don have pretty well covered the basics! I had truck toubles and boat motor troubles to begin with and now that they are ready to go I can't get away from work the last two years have been very busy with the transition from new owners. It's not the people that are thwarting you it's life, and Don A said it best at least you got to fish that day!!! Hang around one year it's gonna be a great thing!!

Yeah Fred Uncle Sam loves me. At least we don't have to work as much as we used to Now I basically work 3 days a week when on the Mon-Wed shift and 4 days each week when on the Thurs-Sun shift. Whenever we have our turn around week I work 7 straight and when someone is on vacation, I have to cover. That is what happened this past couple of weeks.

There was a time a few years ago when we would often work 3 or 4 months without a day off. Glad things have slowed since then

Re: Thanks Guys (Bass Hawk 87)

I'm in the same boat as some of these other guys Todd. Living in Flowery Branch and working inTampa only gets me home every other week.
Been spending Sat. on the lake with my family, out 4 times in the last 2 months and never wet a line once. Enjoyed fishing and eating with ya'll. Got 8 more months to go down here before i can get back to a normal life.
Hell I'm down here and don't have time to fish with the Fl. club either. Mayby all them dinks I usually catch will have some meat on them by the time I get back home.
