sam is right on this one...they are already trying to find places to take water for the orlando area..isnt enough supply there now, and the city is growing...something george carlin said years ago may be coming to light..

not sure about the (6) sink-holes but the one at heagy beary is definetly pulling the most.bottom line is that the muck(settlement) has got to go to have a healthy lake.(they did this on panasoffkee and griffin).

But yet the state will spend million of dollars to dredge and widen the kiss. river from hatch to kiss. I went thru there all week last week and it looked plenty deep and wide enough to me. JMHO

Orange Lake last year was one of the best big bass lakes you could ever imagine. I fished it one day in June or July on a day there was a tournament going on. I wasn't part of the tourney. No less than 5 10+ lbers came out that day. 1 of them was mine. 1 tourney last year was won with a bag over 56 lbs!! And I'm pretty sure there was more hydrilla and pad growth than there was water at the time.

    Re: (ragin_cajun92)

Seems reasonable to me that someone could place a large concrete pad over the sink hole and it be done. I sure do like fishing Orange and I agree that it probably has the largest fish per acre than any other lake in the USA. Hope something is done soon.

well you damn sure dont want to burn the muck off.....dont get me wrong i could use the overtime, but your talking one of the nastiest, and burns for months..even years. lake jackson goest through this often. if they would clean the damn lake up you could at least navigate it. i feel your pain, but the water needs of these larger cities will always take president over our wants. i say dig a ditch across alliator alley large enough no one from miami could crosss it and arm it with 50 cals, let them have that sh++t hole. that should free up some water usage hell they dont want any americans there anyway alll the signs are in spanish, and some of the most arrogant people ive met. my opinion!

its not that I don't believe you but can anyone else verify that or are there pics cause 11.2 lb pound average is something I would have thought would have been all over here and the local news

I know of a 40lb stringer in a tx and we had 36lb in one but havent heard of a 56lber The best we would have done with waivers was 47lbs.We had 4 10lber and a 7lber but extreme didnt have them so we could only weigh 34 and change and won big bag last year.Topwater charlie had one 33 and change this year but somebody from harris won big bag with almost 34lbs. Sure miss orange!!!

Here is a thread on another forum about the subject. To be sure, I was wrong about the 56lb. 53 was what I was told. There is also an account of the tourney (Extreme) that I believe is the one 210blazer is referring to.

I remember that didn't know you guys had to throw back 2 other 10's , I think that is the stupidest rule ever...........Rob L from put up 34lbs this year on Jackson in march but he never enters the big bag pot ( I personally offered to pay it for him next year if I get 1/3 of the winnings)
