Hey All, New guy moving to FL

    Hey everyone,
Just joined this board on reccomendation of a friend. Im gonna be moving down to Orlando FL, January 1st. Im coming down for school at Marine Mechanics Institute. I currently live in NJ, yeah I know, i hate it too lol. Anyhow, i have spent countless hours trying to search up smaller lakes in the Orlando area. I know I have lakes like Toho, Walk in water, Butler Chain, Lake Kissimee(sp?) but Im looking for smaller places (places less than 500 acres) that I can dunk my boat into. I dont have the biggest or fastest ride, a 17ft tracker with a 9.9 merc(this goes back to my state making 10hp resrtictions on reservoirs) and i have a 80lb Minnkota Maxxum. So if yall could help point me to some smaller elec only lakes, itd be much appreciated.

    thanks guys,

    nick

I can name a lot of local lakes in Orlando that your small boat will do well in but a few lakes you can really enjoy are Lake Conway, Lake Underhill, East Lake Toho, Lake Ivanhoe, St. Johns River, etc. Enjoy your stay here in Central Florida.

I've done pretty good before on Ivanhoe and lake Fairview. Do a google search for "Orlando Fab Five" to find info on some of the smaller lakes that are managed for bass.

If you get down here and want to drive a little west to catch some bass, check out Tenoroc Fish Management Area in Lakeland. Do a goggle search

Lake Underhill is a public park with ramp at the corner of Lake Underhill road and Conway Road. I don't like to say much about it but I have caught 27 bass of more than 10 lbs from Underhill over the years and largest 13.7 about 11 years ago. It is a small lake and Fla. Conservation Managed.

There's also Lake Baldwin and Moss Park. Lake Baldwin is northwest of the intersection of SR 50 (E.Colonial Drive) and Semoran Blvd. Moss park is a County run park southeast of the airport. Lake Baldwin has (had?) a motor restriction so no boats to beat you up on that one. Good luck.
