Knowing the waterways you fish and run give you a distinct advantage over someone that has a faster rig but has never been there as well..
You can be 1/2 mile ahead of some one but miss the turn to the spot and they will be sitting there before ya get turned around.
Knowing river bends and what your rig can do in them is more vital then all out speed unless there is long stretches in between.
Hole shot is vital as well, I would rather run slower on top and pop out of the hole for may reasons..![]()
