If you can hook up with THRASHY, that's fine, as I have not sent it out yet. When you call me tomorrow, we'll figure out if you need my engine ring.

WOW I checked out those pics to, it has come a long way...........Its funny but nothing in residential construction scares me but I see a boat and I have no clue how to even begin approaching it

I was lucky with this Storm as it's all one mold, no top cap I had to pull. It still has been a slow process with me learning every step of the way. Anyone that has any building experience, with access to the right tools, I would not hesitate to encourage them to tackle a project like this. Doing this work is really more about having the right place to do it with access to all the tools you need. Once you have that its just a matter of time and hard work.
I am hoping to have it up and going soon. I think it will see low to mid 80's so all these fast guys around Jacksonville will only out run me by 20mph ha ha.
Thanks for the comments guys!![]()

You know, I haven't really ever heard of someone putting it like that. It seems much more practical than just a top number everyone seems to be fixated on, because God knows how long it could take them to get there. I think it's a misconception that if your boat goes fast, it gets to that number quickly which may not be the case whatsoever.
For the most past I just want my boat to drive well and efficiently, I probably won't be going over 65mph most of the time. Hope I can get it in the water soon and dialed in.

one again trashy nails it.....
one of the 'tricks' in winning the run down the river....how fast your rig can recover from a boat wake and get back to top speed....safely
a lot of that depends on the driver making the correct choices as to when to cross a wake, also....![]()
dunns creek is a whole 'nother story.....
i was in a bullet / 250xb and we ran away from an allison / 280 in the creek....but once we got to the lake...well, lets just say its an awesome sight to be going 85 and watch a boat run by you like you forgot to pull up the anchor....![]()
hey go fast guys a question for you...........how long or how far does it take you to get to top speed? I think I can hit 70 in about .70 of a mile.........I know this because thats the distance from my dock to where I hop up to run out of the back of my cove..........maybe I can do it a little faster but I know several times I have passed my dock doing 70+ (sounds cooler than saying 70-72)
Mike I can be at 70 about the same distance![]()
Knowing the waterways you fish and run give you a distinct advantage over someone that has a faster rig but has never been there as well..
You can be 1/2 mile ahead of some one but miss the turn to the spot and they will be sitting there before ya get turned around.
Knowing river bends and what your rig can do in them is more vital then all out speed unless there is long stretches in between.
Hole shot is vital as well, I would rather run slower on top and pop out of the hole for may reasons..![]()

its funny but thats why it has taken me a few years to realize my ranger isn't that fast.........Talquin is decent sized at 9,000 acres but the longest run you could do is only about 8-10miles and most is just 2-5 miles and not in a straight line so thanks to my great hole shot and only having a 3-6 min run to where ever I am going first its really hard for anyone to pass me without really risking their lower unit......
its funny but there is one major cove (little river if anyone knows the lake) that in the spring 3,4,5 boats will always race to, depending on where the tournament is out of its either a 1-1.5 mile run or a 5-6 mile run to the spot where EVERYONE puts down to idle the rest of the way back......always chuckle seeing 3-4 boats idling in a line for 15-20 mins after hauling ass for 2-5 mins to get there first![]()
